My name is Genevieve and Gennywren Silver is the culmination of a period of immense change in my life.  After becoming a mum to three beautiful daughters in a relatively short space of time and trying to juggle motherhood with my career in education, I reached a point where I wanted to reconnect with my long dormant creative side.

Gennywren Silver started life as a long dreamt of hobby.  I come from a creative background and have always dabbled with various arts and crafts projects, but made the 'sensible' choice and pursued a degree in law and then a career in education.  I have loved my career, but becoming a mother to three young daughters led me to reassess all areas of my life.  After much deliberation and with the support of my husband and family, I decided to take the plunge and leave my career of 10 years to concentrate on building Gennywren Silver as a business and new way of life:  A career that allows me to be creative and indulge my love of all things sparkly at the same time!

 

I am Gennywren and Gennywren Silver is me.  Everything that you see on this website has been handmade by me in my home workshop and I will have put hours of time and thought into each piece.  Before launching a new piece or range, I will have worked on a variety of designs, trialling and perfecting them until they are just right.  A lot of coffee will have been drunk in the process!

 

I fit my work around my busy family life: my hardworking husband, three young daughters aged 5, 7 and 9, Dylan the Flat Coated Retriever and our two fussy felines.  Its kind of crazy, but it is full of love and I have the luxury of my workshop to escape to.

 

I love working with silver, creating individually crafted pieces that are made with love, care and attention to detail.  My aim is to provide you with something to treasure and that will draw compliments whenever you wear it. 

 

I love working with natural forms, texture and simple repeated shapes and many of my designs reflect these inspirations.  I have many ready made pieces available on the website for you to buy today, but if you can't see what you want or if you would like to discuss a bespoke commission, please get in touch and I would be happy to explore the possibilities with you.

 

I am proud to be registered with Edinburgh Assay Office who provide hallmarking services for my work.  I am also a member of the Guild of Jewellery Designers and the Society of British Jewellers.
